Believe it or not, Apple also discontinued the Mac Pro Wheels

Previously, we mentioned that Apple officially discontinued the Mac Pro after it was long antiquated with the M2 Ultra, where the rest of the Mac lineup has been regularly updated with newer Apple silicon.

Unsurprisingly, Apple also discontinued the absurdly-priced $700 Mac Pro Wheels kit that allowed you to replace the feet of the Mac Pro with those wheels. (Going to that page now will tell you that page isn’t available). Even Apple enthusiasts on X, Reddit, etc., recently made a joke about comparing the price of those wheels to the MacBook Neo’s starting price. Anyways, Apple offered this kit for Mac Pro customers who didn’t configure the Mac Pro to have wheels at the time of purchase.

Speaking of which, here are several of Apple’s Pro-related products that Apple axed this month:

  • Pro Display XDR, which was succeeded by the newer Studio Display XDR
  • Pro Stand, which retailed for an outrageous price of $999; this accessory isn’t relevant anymore now that the Studio Display XDR includes a stand
  • Apple Pro Display XDR to a VESA Mount Adapter
  • Mac Pro

It goes without saying that the Mac Studio is the future for Apple’s workstation-class performance, and as Marques Brownlee says, “Studio is the new Pro.”

Good riddance to one of Apple’s most bizarre accessories as well as the aging Mac Pro, which means the Mac lineup makes sense now.
